Entry 17: Nickname

Sometimes, I like to introduce myself as "Hoss", just to save me the trouble of explaining to people how the name Hoson came to be, and also how it's spelled. However, the vast majority of people who do know me as "Hoss" spell it like this: "Hos". Even today, I wonder why they chose to use one S instead of two. I mean, there are other words that "Hoss" rhymes with, like "boss" and even the name "Ross", but they never seem to have that realization. It's no big deal. I just find it rather amusing.
